Health Care for All’s HelpLine is a free resource available to everyone simply by dialing 1-800-272-4232. The HelpLine is here to answer your questions about health coverage in Massachusetts. 

We can answer general insurance questions, tell you what free and lower-cost programs you may be eligible for, and help you to apply all in quick and easy telephone call.

You can contact us by phone or online. Either way, a Helpline counselor is able to help you with your health coverage needs.


HelpLine Telephone Service
You can reach the HelpLine by calling 1-800-272-4232. HelpLine Counselors are available 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.  If you call us outside of these hours, leave a message, and we’ll get back to you the next business day.


What Do HelpLine Counselors do?

  • Help you understand your health coverage options
  • Help you apply for and get free and lower-cost health coverage
  • Help you to find out what your health coverage covers
  • Help you solve problems with your health coverage


The HelpLine DOES NOT:

  • Sell insurance
  • Give insurance quotes
  • Offer financial assistance
  • Share your personal information without your permission

Who runs the HelpLine?

The HelpLine is staffed by Health Care for All staff, interns, and volunteers.  All of our HelpLine counselors are trained and receive up-to-date information about health care coverage in
Massachusetts.

HCFA is an independent, statewide consumer advocacy organization.  We are not a government agency.  We work to make the health care system better.
