Health Care For All announces the appointment of Amy Whitcomb Slemmer as the organization’s new Executive Director. Amy Whitcomb Slemmer“I am honored to be Health Care For All’s next Executive Director and thrilled to join such a talented group of people” said Slemmer. “I have been fortunate to spend much of my career working on behalf of some of our most vulnerable populations, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to combine that work with my core belief that all people must have access to affordable, high quality health care. As a team, Health Care For All will work hard to ensure that the current economic crisis does not undo any of the gains that have been achieved on behalf of Massachusetts residents. We will continue to create and offer innovative policy solutions to the nation’s increasingly fragile health care system.” As Executive Director Ms. Slemmer will provide overall strategic leadership for the organization and be responsible for ensuring and strengthening its financial health. She will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of all policy, legislative, fundraising strategies and initiatives. Prior to joining Health Care For All, Ms. Slemmer was the Executive Officer of Biomedical Services for the American Red Cross in Washington, DC, which is responsible for supplying nearly half of the nation’s blood supply. As President of Slemmer & Associates Grassroots Advocacy she provided advice and counsel to a diverse group of health care organizations as they negotiated the federal legislative process.
