Cost Control: What Are YOUR Ideas...?

Do these cost control measures include any steps to target the outrageously high c-section rate in Massachusetts? There is no reason that 30% of births in Massachusetts should be performed by c-section. Every c-section birth costs several thousand dollars more than a vaginal birth. (The last estimate I saw put it at about $7,000 more per birth.) Multiply that out, and you have potential savings in the tens of millions of dollars annually, possibly over one hundred million dollars.
Rock 'n Roll, Andrew. The Legislature's Joint Committee on Health Care Financing will be holding a public hearing next Wednesday (don't know the time yet) on the Senate cost control proposals.
What are YOUR ideas? Come to the hearing to testify. Or ... Post them here. We'll hand deliver every single solitary idea to the Committee. No censoring, no commentary. Let's have as many ideas as our smart readers and posters can generate...
