Governor, Legislators, Advocates, Families to Celebrate Kid's Mental Health
Last month, Governor Patrick signed Chapter 321 of the Acts of 2008 into law. Chapter 321 will significantly improve Massachusetts’ children’s mental health system by expanding early identification of mental illness, providing schools resources to help students with mental disorders, expanding insurance protections, and restructuring state systems to encourage better coordination and communication.
Next Wednesday, September 24, at 2:00 pm, Governor Patrick will join legislators, advocates, and family members in celebrating the enactment of An Act Relative To Children’s Mental Health at a bill signing ceremony at the Grand Staircase in the State House. Following the signing, the Children’s Mental Health Campaign will host a reception in the Social Law Library of the Adams Courthouse (One Pemberton Square) from 3-5 pm.
All are invited to attend both the signing and the reception. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Matt Noyes, HCFA’s children’s health coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
