I am thrilled to join Health Care For All as its new Executive Director and delighted to be joining this health care policy community. I am impressed by all the talented folks I have met at Health Care For All, and it is my privilege to become a member of the team.

Across the nation, health care advocates have watched Massachusetts health reform and Health Care For All with great admiration. In light of the current national political climate, and the difficult state budget cuts underway, I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation for the hard work of the HCFA staff and others that helped minimize recent budget cuts on our priority programs. These cuts could have weakened programs that are so important for effective reform.

As I move into my new responsibilities I will spend a great deal of time getting to know the community, listening to stakeholders, and meeting many of you. I am truly excited about the new opportunities we will explore, as well as maintaining HCFA’s focus on our core mission of achieving high quality, affordable health care for everyone in Massachusetts.

Once I am on the ground in mid-November I will send out my e-mail address with my sincere invitation that you contact me with your ideas, feedback and intelligence. I look forward to using this forum for frequent postings, debate and engaging community conversation.
