Louis Pratt will serve as the Development Co-op from July 2019-December 2019. He is currently enrolled at Northeastern University where he studies Political Science and Communications. Louis grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts and is a member of Northeastern's rowing team. Louis served as the Communications and Policy Co-op last year from July 2018-December 2018. He is excited to return to HCFA and contribute to our mission of working to promote health equity and ensure coverage and access for all.
Yaminah Romulus is a Policy and Project Coordinator at Health Care For All. She works with the policy department on HCFA’s affordable drug portfolio, where she provides research, analysis, coalition coordination, event planning, and administrative support. Prior to joining HCFA, Yaminah worked as a Health Policy and Program Associate at the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation providing research and analysis support across various program areas. In addition to several other experiences in health policy research, she also served as a Patient Advocate at the Birmingham Free Clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of her major responsibilities included facilitating all aspects of the clinic’s Pharmaceutical Assistance Program applications and medications received free of charge for uninsured patients. Yaminah earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Public Health with a focus in Health Policy at Emory University.

Alex is Co-Director of Policy and Government Affairs at Health Care For All (HCFA). His work focuses on low-income seniors, delivery system reform, integration of social determinants of health, oral health integration and prescription drugs. Prior to joining HCFA, Alex was the Senior Program Manager for Medicaid Strategies at Partners HealthCare where he led the creation and operation of their Medicaid Accountable Care Organization. He also served as the Senior Health Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow where oversaw her health care portfolio and focused on legislation such as the Affordable Care Act and the Excellence in Mental Health Act. He holds a B.A. from Vassar College, and an M.P.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Dr. Singh is a licensed general dentist and earned her doctorate at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2010. She went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Westchester Medical Center in NY in 2011 and subsequently practiced in NYC for several years. As a result of her academic and clinical experiences, Dr. Singh recognized the importance of access to appropriate oral & dental health care as a public health issue and thus obtained her Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health in the summer of 2016. Dr. Singh understands the critical role that oral health plays in overall health and is excited and passionate about pushing forward oral health integration efforts in Massachusetts.

Carlos Solis moved to the U.S. in 2006 and has been employed by HCFA since 2008. In addition to his work at HCFA, he has served as a freelance reporter for several Hispanic newspapers, including La Semana, Siglo 21, El Planeta and El Mundo. Carlos continues to work as a correspondent for the major Nicaraguan newspapers, El Nuevo Diario. He is also an experienced filmmaker and co-director and co-producer of the 2005 documentary "NICA/ragüense," which was awarded Best Documentary at the XIV Costa Rican Film Festival.

Sally Strniste serves as a member of Health Care For All’s Management team and as a liaison to the Executive Director. Sally leads the organizations development and fundraising work which includes major event planning activities. Additionally, Sally provides strategic support to the board of directors as well as to major organizational campaigns and programs. Sally began her career working as a community organizer, canvass director and campaign coordinator in Lowell, Cape Cod, South Boston and Dorchester. Sally graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMASS Boston with a B.A. in Political Science and is currently seeking her J.D. at night from Suffolk University Law School.

Alex Tappan is Health Care For All’s Development and Administrative Coordinator. In this role, Alex supports HCFA’s Development Department, including the Chief of Staff and Executive Director with grant management and major fundraising activities, including event planning. Alex began working at Health Care For All as a Northeastern co-op student, before joining the team, first on a part-time basis, then as a full-time staff member. Alex graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Political Science from Northeastern University, where is also currently pursuing his MPA.

Alyssa’s work focuses on policy and advocacy related to private insurance, payment and delivery system reform, and prescription drug reform. Prior to HCFA, Alyssa worked as a Legal Fellow at Health Law Advocates, where she represented low-income clients experiencing difficulty accessing health care. She earned a joint degree in law from Northeastern University School of Law and a Masters in Public Health from Tufts School of Medicine, completing legal internships at Greater Boston Legal Services Health Care Unit, Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee, Physicians For Human Rights and the Massachusetts Federal District Court. Prior to law school she worked for a number of years in the fields of reproductive health advocacy at Pathfinder International and immigrant health advocacy at Health Care For All.
