Secretary of Health and Human Services JudyAnn Bigby and the Mass HIT Council will be holding a series of public meetings throughout Massachusetts this month. The goal of these meetings is to include the public in the discussion around leveraging the funds from the federal stimulus bill that will be available to states for HIT. In order to make sure that the statewide implementation of an electronic health records exchange -- required by Chapter 305 -- makes the best use of the state and federal funds for this purpose, all stakeholders should weigh in. A list of questions has been created to make sure that certain topics are covered, but other issues are welcomed in the discussion. Written comments are also welcomed and should be submitted by April 28 to thompson@masstech.org.
