Marcia Hams
Marcia Hams – Retired, Community Catalyst

Marcia Hams (Board President) Marcia Hams has worked for more than 20 years to expand access to quality, affordable health care. Prior to her retirement in February of 2016, Marcia worked at Community Catalyst, directing prescription drug initiatives, which addressed fair pricing, deceptive marketing practices and conflicts of interest, transparency in industry relationships with providers, evidence-based prescribing and drug manufacturing safety. As the former deputy director of Health Care For All, Marcia was responsible for policy development, campaign organizing and legislative advocacy on health reform, children’s health, Medicaid, managed care and community benefits.

Post-retirement, Marcia is broadening her issue activism through leadership in the Unitarian Universalist church and its community partnership and coalition work in social justice, environmental justice and anti-racism/anti-oppression initiatives.  She is her congregation’s representative to GBIO, the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, and works with Centro Presente on immigration issues, and with 350 Mass and a new interfaith coalition on climate change.  She is excited to be able to continue her activism on health care as a member of the Health Care For All Board of Directors.

Wendy Parmet
Wendy E. Parmet – Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and George J. and Kathleen Waters Matthews Distinguished University Professor of Law, Northeastern University School of Law

Associate Dean Parmet (Board Vice President), a leading expert on health, disability and public health law, directs the law school’s MPH program with Tufts University School of Medicine, as well as the Program on Health Policy and Law. In the spring of 2003, she was named a Matthews Distinguished University Professor, an award that recognizes and furthers the scholarly and creative activities of prominent Northeastern University faculty. She is also a co-editor of the law school’s SSRN online publications Human Rights and the Global Economy and the Northeastern University School of Law Public Law and Legal Theory Research Paper Series. Professor Parmet teaches Public Health Law, Health Law and Torts, and has published articles on public health, bioethics, discrimination, health law and AIDS law.

Lori Abrams Berry – CEO, Lynn Community Health Center (Retired)

Lori Berry has worked in leadership positions in community health settings serving low-income people for over 40 years, most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of the Lynn Community Health Center for 21 years. Under her leadership, the health center experienced significant growth, providing affordable, accessible and comprehensive health care for over 40% of Lynn residents.  The Lynn Community Health Center was the acknowledged leader in Massachusetts in developing fully integrated and accessible primary care and behavioral health services and in significantly improving access to care for people with Opiate addiction. Lori is very proud of her role in the formation of a new community health center operated Accountable Care Organization – the Community Care Cooperative (known as C3).

Lori retired in October 2017 and is very pleased to be able to serve on the Board of Health Care for All and to continue her advocacy for access to affordable and equitable health care for the most vulnerable residents of the commonwealth.

Mary Connelly
Mary Connelly, Esq. – Director of Diversity / ADA Coordinator/Human Resources Liaison, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission

Mary Connelly, Esquire is a Director of Diversity/ ADA Coordinator/Human Resources Liaison at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. Before transferring to MRC, Attorney Connelly served as a Diversity Officer at the Executive Office of Health and Human Services where she had responsibility for the Civil Rights Compliance activities of as many as four agencies at a time. Before moving to EHS, Attorney Connelly was an Assistant Civil Rights Administrator at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health.  Before joining state service, she was a staff attorney at the Legal Services Computer Project at Massachusetts Law Reform Institute. She is a 1984 graduate of Boston University School of Law.

Jacqueline Coogan
Jacqueline Coogan – Community Child Health Advocate, Joint Committee for Children’s Health Care in Everett

Jacqueline Coogan is the Founder and former Executive Director of The Joint Committee for Children’s Health Care in Everett (JCCHCE). She has decades of experience in the Everett Public School system as both a classroom teacher and elementary Guidance Counselor. In 2011, she joined the Massachusetts PTA as their Health and Safety Chair. Ms. Coogan, a long time educator and child and family advocate, serves on the Board of Directors for the JCCHCE as well as on the Board of Directors of Health Care For All.  She has been honored by Salem State College as the Outstanding Educator of the Year (2002), received the Massachusetts Teachers Association’s Human and Civil Rights Award for Creative Leadership (2009), and the Massachusetts PTA “Commitment to Children Award (2012).

Wanda Cordova
Wanda Cordova – Chief Financial Officer, Forsyth Institute

As CFO of the Forsyth Institute, Wanda Cordova (Board Treasurer) is responsible for leading the financial planning for the institute. She has more than 12 years accounting and financial management experience. In her role at the Broad Institute, where she served as Controller, she was responsible for ensuring proper internal controls, safeguarding of assets, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Cordova worked closely with senior leadership to develop strong financial reporting in support of strategic management. Prior to joining the Broad, Wanda worked at the PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the four largest accounting firms in the country. Cordova received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk University in 2002 and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2006.  

Alba N. Cruz-Davis – Executive Director of the Joint Committee for Children's Health Care in Everett

Alba N. Cruz-Davis is Executive Director of the Joint Committee for Children's Health Care in Everett. She also serves as a consultant to the Center for Community Health Education at Northeastern University, where she provides support to the Center's work relating to health professions diversity, health workforce development, health disparities prevention and health equity promotion. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Heller School of Social Welfare at Brandeis University.

Joseph Feaster, Jr.
Joseph Feaster, Jr., Esq. – Counsel, McKenzie & Associates, P.C.

Attorney Joseph D. Feaster, Jr. has been practicing law for nearly 40 years and currently is the court-appointed Receiver for Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center. Attorney Feaster previously served as President of the Massachusetts Community and Banking Council, Acting Director of Real Estate for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, Interim Administrator of the Boston Housing Authority, one of the largest public housing authorities in the country; Assistant Secretary and General Counsel in the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Administration and Finance, Associate Counsel in Prudential Insurance Company’s Northeast Home Office, and as an attorney at the National Labor Relations Board’s Boston Regional Office. His professional affiliations are numerous, as his expertise is sought within the City of Boston and nationally. Attorney Feaster received his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law. He has also completed programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Real Estate Development and Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. 

Steve Gorrie
Steve Gorrie – Professional Parliamentarian, Former President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association

Steve Gorrie is a practicing parliamentarian and a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and the American Institute of Parliamentarians. He serves as parliamentarian for the Nevada State Education Association, the Connecticut Education Association, the Michigan Education Association, the Norfolk County (MA) Teachers Association, the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and several other unions, non-profit and professional organizations. A native of Andover, Mr. Gorrie is a graduate of Northeastern University and also earned a Masters Degree in Education from Northeastern. He is a Past President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Mr. Gorrie represents retired NEA members on the National Education Association Board of Directors.

Ann Hwang, M.D. – Director, Center for Consumer Engagement in Health Innovation at Community Catalyst

Ann Hwang, M.D. is the director of the Center for Consumer Engagement in Health Innovation at Community Catalyst, and is a visiting Fellow at the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School where she teaches and contributes to research on health care policy. Ann received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and has worked as an attending physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the VA Boston Healthcare System. In addition to leading the Center, she continues her clinical practice in Internal Medicine, focusing her practice on care for vulnerable communities.
